The position would suit a candidate who is working towards their BSc Honours in Quantity Surveying or has recently graduated with a BSc Honours in Quantity Surveying and is working towards MRICS chartered status. Senior Quantity Surveyor/Associate

As a result of continued success and growth and an expanding workload and client base, we are looking to recruit a self-motivated Quantity Surveyor with relevant experience at Senior QS or Associate level within our Glasgow office.

This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of an established practice at management level.

We provide a number of services across most sectors and there is an opportunity to become involved in Cost Management, Traditional Quantity Surveying, Employers Agent, Project Management, CDM services, specialist M&E measurement, billing and costing, procurement and dispute resolution.

Projects include a variety of refurbishment and new build within a wide range of sectors, including Higher and Further Education, Local Authority, Residential, Social Housing, Private Houses, Hotel and Leisure, Commercial Developments, Retail, Community projects and Restoration/Conservation.

The successful candidate should ideally:

  • have a minimum of 10 years’ experience within private practice
  • have strong understanding and practical experience of both Pre-Contract and Post-Contract work
  • have a working knowledge of main contract forms
  • have strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable in a client facing role
  • be able to manage and deliver projects with minimum of supervision
  • be either chartered or currently working towards chartered status
  • be ambitious with career and business development aspirations
  • be able to work as part of a larger team as well as manage and lead a team of Quantity Surveyors

Health and Safety Consultant

One of Armour Construction Consultants specialisms is in the provision of Construction Health & Safety Consultancy and CDM services to Clients throughout the UK.

As a result of continued success and an ever expanding work load, we are looking to recruit a diligent, articulate, self-motivated and experienced Health and Safety Consultant to assist with our increasing work load as Principal Designers, Principal Designer Advisers and Client’s Advisers.

You will work within an established CDM department providing services for a range of Clients across various sectors of the construction industry.

The successful candidate will be a qualified safety professional able to demonstrate proven experience and knowledge of working within a construction health and safety consultancy environment.

You will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects with an understanding of key hazards typical to building and engineering projects and will be comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a wider team.

You will demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels and be able to work effectively with both internal and external members of the project team to ensure health and safety issues are properly addressed and managed throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires the individual to have an in depth understanding of design and construction processes and the ability to communicate effectively. Essentially you will possess a clear understanding of the legal requirements of the CDM Regulations and will be required to fulfil the requirements of the role of the Principal Designer, Principal Designer Adviser and the Client’s Adviser.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role the successful candidate should be a Registered Member of the APS (or similar Professional Body) and ideally be able to demonstrate previous experience in a relevant design or construction environment.
