Hunter proudly originates from Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders from where, on leaving school, he headed north to Aberdeen where, in 1989, he graduated with a BSc from Robert Gordon’s Institute of Technology. In pursuit of developing his career in Quantity Surveying, Hunter then sought employment in Glasgow, joining Armours in 1991. Becoming qualified in 1992, Hunter was made an Associate of the Practice in 1996 and a Partner in 2006.

Over his years in Armours, Hunter has been involved in many projects in the private and public sector including city centre retail developments, historical restoration projects, new build office developments, insurance reinstatement works, industrial/commercial developments and, the back-bone of Hunter’s workload, social housing projects. Hunter’s experience extends beyond the traditional Quantity Surveyor for many of these projects in also providing the role of Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent.

Over the years, Hunter has also developed, supervised and administered many Stock Condition Survey and Life Cycle Costing Exercises managing teams of surveyors, M&E Consultants and Structural Engineers to provide detailed stock information and whole life costs for various traditional and non-traditional building types.
